Documentation on Completion of Works
Approved Contractors sign an undertaking that their work will conform with the required standards. This includes the issue of appropriate certificates, report and forms on completion of electrical work, certifying compliance with the relevant regulations and codes of practice.

NICEIC certificates, reports and forms are controlled documents and are only supplied to Approved Contractors and Conforming Bodies. Each document has a unique serial number which is traceable to the business to which it was originally supplied. There are three main documents issued by electrical contractors:
Electrical Installation Certificate.
This  is issued on completion of a new electrical installation, or an alteration or addition to an existing installation.
Periodic Inspection Report.
This is issued when a report on the condition of an existing installation is required.
Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate.
This is issued if a minor alteration or addition has been carried out to an existing installation and where it has not been necessary to provide a new circuit.
